From Kuşadası to Pamukkale

Assalamualaikum, readers! I am back with another post, this time not too long as we circle around the town of Kuşadası.

Wednesday morning, we all woke up and performed our prayers. The sun outside has risen as we had our breakfast and packed our things for we're about to move yet again! Meanwhile we also went out on the balcony to take pictures of the brilliant view of the city and the sea from high above. There was also a resort painted in rainbow colours in the distance; it looked aesthetic to me.

When we've packed everything, we checked out of the hotel and started heading to the city centre, where there' supposedly a grand bazaar. We stopped by the seaside a bit for some photos first. We couldn't find the bazaar (or maybe it's closed?) but we did find alleys with stores, though most of them are closed. There was an era that seemed ike a marketplace, but it looked like it hasn't been used for a long time. We only took pictures in it and played with some cats.

After walking a bit more, we found a set of colourful stairs leading high up to what we presumed to be a neighbourhood. It was tiring for me to hike up, but we didn't make it to the top though - we were about halfway up when we heard a dog loudly barking somewhere in front of us. Well, that's our cue. Even though the dog was inside on fo the houses and couldn't get out, we hurried back down, me being at the very front.

Later we went deeper into the cluster of shops to find an area alive with activity - streets lined with shops and restaurants, people bustling to and fro, cats on benches leaning it for a pat, and a mosque in the middle of it all. There were a few carts selling simit but we couldn't catch them after we see them the first time. As we walked down the streets, the mosque started blaring the azan to call for Zuhr prayer. Before anything, we had to pray first, so we headed to the mosque to pray. My mom and I entered the women's are. There was a cubicle there and my mom opened the door to see what's in there. It turned out to be the bilal doing the azan! The bilal saw us and after the azan he gestured that we were indeed in the right place.

After prayers, we searched for a place to eat. We already set our eyes on a place and ordered a meal. It was a late lunch so we're all quite hungry. I ordered a kind of shish sandwich and finished all, plus some of my parents' food. Once we're all fuelled up, we headed back to our car, but stopped at the Turk Telekom first to buy another data plan. While my mother and I settled the data plan, Yusuf and my dad found another cat to play with. The cat knew some tricks too! Whenever someone holds out their hand, it stands up and brushed its head against it before dropping back down. How smart!

Now we've got our data and ready to go. Our trip this time is towards Pamukkale, where we plan to see the Cotton Castle and Hierapolis, another ancient city. The trip was three hours long and we arrived at the most hotel-looking hotel we've been to so far - the last ones all looked like houses. We're only spending one night in Pamukkale so this hotel was sufficient. It also views the Cotton Castle form the window of our room!

That's all for today. Tomorrow I will write about Pamukkale! Stay tuned!

Assalamualaikum!
