Clueless Cases (Chapter 5): The Case(s)

Cliff and the others waited without interruptions as Ivy explained the case from the beginning thoroughly and clearly, not missing any important detail. "Hailey Carmine," Ivy continued,"according to Mrs. Greene, had moved to Number 9 Dillway Lane for about three months now, and had been very private and secretive, rarely associate with other people in the neighborhood, but sometimes talked to her nearest neighbors. Nancy Greene, Mrs. Greene's elder daughter, who always buys the groceries, sometimes spotted Carmine talking to the grocer. She said they talked as if they were close friends." She spoke with the air of a real reporter. She had always been like that whenever she explained anything.  "That's it then," Kevin interrupted. "Mason's a suspect." This was a shock to them, including Kevin himself. They doubted it would've been Wyler Mason, the kindhearted and generous middle-aged gentleman who owns one of Clyville...

Happy Holidays!

Assalamualaikum, blog-readers! Alhamdulillah..we made through a wonderful year 2015! The year filled with laughs, smiles, tears, hops, fun, struggles, sweat, love, friendship, fights and everything. Just remember the happy experiences you've been through, and the next year will be better. Although it's nearly a week of the holidays, I won't bother to say, HAPPY HOLIDAYS! It was an amazing journey this year with all of you, friends or not, acquaintances or not, related or not, met or not, we're all a family and all of you had made this year amazing! A special thanks to my parents, making me the happiest daughter in the world, to my teachers who had been teaching me, making me more knowledgeable from time to time, and to all my family and friends, daring to accompany me in the ups and downs of an awesome year. I want to apologize to everyone I've made a mistake to. I probably didn't follow directions, or stepped on your foot, or sat on your hand, or s...

Alhamdulillah..Congratulations, Everyone!

Assalamualaikum, readers! Today is the day all year 6 students receive their results for UPSR and PSRA in Sri Ayesha. I want to say congratulations to every one of my friends (and people I've never met) no matter what your result is. The important thing is that you've done your best. And this is our topic in this post. To those who didn't achieve 5As and Mumtaz, it's okay. It is your effort we want to celebrate, not your results. Congratulations! You still have many chances to get better and try a different learning or study strategy. Have you heard of the youngest student getting a PhD? I can't remember his name, but he got PhD when he's just 23 years old! But he only got 4As and 1B in his UPSR exams. So don't worry if you have a bad result. It's not like it's the end of the world. And please, parents, do not pressure them if they didn't succeed. It's bad enough they got bad results, but you have to encourage them to keep moving f...

Clueless Cases (Chapter 4): Murder or Suicide?!

As fast as they could, the children rushed out of Cliff's room, leaving unimportant things behind. Cliff and Cleo ran into their garage to get their bicycles as Tyler, Kevin and Ivy ran along the road to their homes to get theirs. Despite being in a rush, Cliff had time to tell his friends to go straight to Dillway Lane without waiting for anything or anyone. Tyler ran back home with Kevin behind him. Ivy already sprinted in front of them back to her house. The twins hurried towards their garage where they found their bikes right next to their father, who was repairing his new convertible that had crashed into a tree driven by Aunt Julie last Sunday. He was really upset when he heard the news of the hood smashed to pieces along with the windshield while his younger sister (who had just got a license before the accident) was unharmed. So he decided to repair it himself as he "never really trusted any mechanics", according to Kevin. "Next time, Dad," Tyle...

Outings and Trips

Image
Assalamualaikum, everyone! I am very sorry for the long, long, long pause without any posts. Yup. Last time I wrote here was on 14th of October. Well, to make it up to you, I will write a new post today (which I'm currently writing) about my outings and trips after my major exams and the American Mathematics Olympiad. National Museum First trip after the exams was going to the National Museum of Malaysia. It was a fun and tiring experience, wandering ins, outs, ups and downs of the museum while trying to finish the quiz given to every group of three to four. We all competed to find which group was the fastest to answer the test, although speed was not counted. All the groups searched for the answers in the four big galleries stuffed with things over time in Malaysia. Pictures and models filled the galleries with some kind of creepy aura. I had some trouble to deal with my group mates since they always get the creeps around the plastic skeletons and stuff like that. ...

Oh, How I Love Books!

Image
Assalamualaikum and welcome again! Thank you all for reading this post. Today I'd like to write about my hobbies (mainly about how I love to read and write). If you view my complete profile, I have many interests. But all of them come from books. Storytelling, reading, writing, maths, science, mystery, adventure, even travelling, all come from books. Well, let me do this one-by-one. Why do I like books? I don't like them, of course, but I LOVE them! So, why? I love books because it's fun to read. Well, I prefer fictional books over facts, but non-fictional (which are facts) books are very interesting. I love reading mystery and adventurous books with mind-boggling puzzles and riddles. I even kept a book about spies, breaking codes, and even a book about how to code and decode. I also love the adventurous books written by the famous authors Enid Blyton and Roald Dahl. My father recommended to me a couple of books written by Dan Brown and my mother's friend onc...

The End?

Assalamualaikum, Alhamdulillah, I still have the ability and the time (despite taking care of my little brother while the maid is lying sick) to write a new post, which I planned to do every day this week since I have a school holiday. And alhamdulillah, thanks to Allah the Most Merciful, I've finished my two biggest examinations of this year very recently and smoothly. I can't say it was easy-peasy, but it wasn't so difficult too. So insha-Allah, I will get a high grade for my PSRA. Thank you for all the support and prayers from my friends, their parents, my teachers, my parents (although my mother was in Spain for most of the exams), my wonderful family, and my dear readers. May our efforts give a beneficial outcome and a satisfying result. But we still have to pray so that the examiners that will mark our papers have a merciful heart and can accept logical answers, even the ones not from the textbook. Last, Friday, when we've finished our last paper, some ...

Clueless Cases (Chapter 3): The Meeting

Cleo hurried to the front door as she heard the doorbell. She opened it to find the Furling twins and Ivy, standing - and panting - right there in front of her. "What are you guys doing here?" she asked instantly, without a polite greeting or a sunny smile."If my brother called for a meeting or homework discussion, then I should be the first one to know." And she didn't, clearly shown by her ocean blue nightdress and a pair of fluffy white bunny bedroom slippers. Her black hair was cascaded over her shoulders, tangled at every tip. Ivy told Cleo to get ready and tell her brother the same thing. "I've got news," she whispered. Surprisingly, Cleo understood Ivy's orders quicker than Tyler and Kevin did, although she's still eight - four years younger than the others. She didn't wait to ask questions and instead, rushed inside and up the flight of stairs immediately. As soon as Cleo disappeared inside the house, Ivy, Kevin and Tyl...

Clueless Cases (Chapter 2): News!

Ivy woke up early as always the next day, admiring the yellowish red sun rays stretching across the horizon and deep in thought. She turned around as she heard a knock, and Mrs. Plyde shuffled into the room. Her mother was still in her violet silk nightdress, her hair was wild and messy, and she had black circles around her eyes, showing lack of sleep. Ivy gaped, staring wide-eyed at her mother's unusually unkempt appearance. "Is something wrong, Mom?" she asked, a bit worried. Mrs. Plyde sat heavily on the bed, clearly exhausted. "Did you hear it last night?" she mumbled, her wide terrified eyes glued to the wall in front of her. Her skin was as pale as her dry lips, which were quivering a bit. Ivy could hardly hear her mother's soft voice. It was as if she was talking to herself rather than Ivy, but she could make out what she said, making her quite confused. Well, sure Mrs. Plyde was a light-sleeper and wakes up at any loud noises, but she n...

Clueless Cases (Chapter 1): Prologue

Night fell on Hilder Street, sending cool mists into the starlit sky. A crescent moon hung among the rows of twinkling stars as Cliff plopped himself on his bed, dressed in his pajamas. Just like any other night, he took his mystery notebook from his bedside table; a book that he had been using to write mysterious things that happened in town. Every Friday night, he would jot down the weird things that happened in Clyville, mainly mysteries. He wrote: No mysteries this week. Hope next week will be different. It's been a week since Cliff and his gang solved a mystery. They had been waiting, keeping a lookout for enemies, reading newspapers, watching the news on television and asked people all around town for mysterious happenings. Still, they couldn't find any recently. It might be strange for a group of youngsters to go search for crimes to solve, but it's just what they're interested in. Cliff closed his notebook and a yawn escaped his mouth. Withou...

After UPSR...

Assalamualaikum everyone! Thank you again for the continuous reading of this blog. As you already knew (probably), I have just finished the UPSR examinations this week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. It was pretty tough, but I could say that I managed to answer most of the questions confidently. For Bahasa Malaysia, I have a little problem at the words with many meanings - and I know I was wrong - but the others were fine. For Mathematics, I didn't have a problem except when I miscalculated on some questions and spent too much time recalculating them until I barely had time to finish (but I did and didn't have any time to check the paper). Science wasn't hard in Section A, but I had problems with the inferences in Section B. Luckily I remembered the notes I made (and found). English was quite easier than the other subjects. In fact, I even needed an additional paper to write my story in Section C. Above all, the aptitude test was the most challe...

A Favor

Assalamualaikum and welcome again everyone. Alhamdulillah, my friends and I are back to being friends with no ard feelings and no more fighting nor dramas. Thank you for forgiving me. Today, I have something important to say. Of course, you must have known from viewing my older posts (and my age) that I am one of the young candidates of UPSR and PSRA examinations. Yes, the UPSR examination is just around the corner - which is the next day after tomorrow, 8th September 2015! Time flies faster than you'll ever expect. The first second you were just entering year 6, and then the next second you're going to sit for the big exams! We have been learning in primary school for six whole years, and now we will be tested with all the knowledge we've gained. We have been getting ready for the exams, and we still are, when there's still time to spare. We prayed and prayed to Allah for calmness and focus. I would like to thank all the teachers who are there for us. Teac...

I Learned a Lesson...

Assalamualaikum, This is posted due to an incident yesterday. We were celebrating a birthday party in class, though only a part of us. We wanted it to be small and only a few food were brought. The other part were really upset (although not all of them) and accused us for not inviting them. First of all, if you are reading this my friends, I am very, truly, sincerely sorry for not inviting you guys in the planning and the party. I am so regretful for not considering your feelings. We were very selfish. I hereby represent the group to apologize to all of you, upset or not.  Yes, it was our fault, mostly mine. You see, I'm mainly not part of that group, but I was invited. I was the only one who is not in the group invited, just because we were coincidentally together when we agreed to plan a party for the birthday girl. So it was mainly my fault for not inviting others or even tell them. At least I could've told you that we were planning and the birthday was going to b...

True Friends

Image
Assalamualaikum, Today, I would like to say a few things about true friends. A true friend is someone we can trust. Someone I can count on. Someone who always cares for me. Someone whose shoulders I can cry on. Someone whom I give my appreciation. Somebody we can tell secrets and problems comfortably to and they are supportive. A true friend is someone who faces the same challenges. Someone like me. We don't attract what we want, but we attract what we are. True friend is someone who remembers us if we part. Someone who never leaves us. Someone who can run with us. A true friend is like a maths question: 3y + 5y = 8y. no matter where we are, they are still related to us till the end. Someone we can hug like a pillow when we get upset. A true friend is strange to us. Sometimes like an alien because there is no one like them. A true friend is someone who drags me towards success. Someone who can guide me. Someone who can help and guide me to Jannah. A true friend ...

For All My Friends in Vietnam...

Image
Assalamualaikum and welcome back. This is my message to all of my friends in Vietnam, whether you're still there or not. I would like to tell you that I missed you so much since I left. I have shared contact with one of you but I missed all of you. I still remember all of you; your names, your faces, yous voices and even your attitudes. I've had a lot of fun here in Malaysia, but I'm sure it would much more fun if you guys were here. All of us together, playing, laughing, teasing, singing and having the time of our lives. I told my friends how fun you guys were and showed them your pictures. I remembered quite vividly how we met in Grade 2. It was a wonderful memory. I don't think I will ever forget it. This includes my teacher, Mr. Townsend. You have been a wonderful teacher to me. Everything you taught me was very meaningful. Spelling, mathematics, unit of inquiry, storytelling, all of them. I know I said I would return to Vietnam to meet you guys again...

Smile!

Image
Assalamualaikum wrh wbt, I appreciate you for reading this post. I have been chosen to be the 'naqibah' in an 'usrah' -- a person who leads a topic in a discussion -- today which is Friday 13th of March 2015. I chose the topic 'Smile and Laugh'. I want to share the information I have found about smiling from a lot of searching and asking. First of all, what is a smile? According to the Islam religion, a smile is a beautiful award given to us from Allah. It is also an antidote or a cure for someone who is hurt, sad or upset. If one of our friends are lonely or upset and we smile at them, wouldn't they feel much better? They would feel appreciated and treated. Wouldn't it be nice if we receive a smile? And isn't it much better when were the ones who gave a smile? Of course it is. Smiling is sadaqah. Like the words of the Prophet SAW: " Smile to your brother is sadaqah." A smile is also a sign that you are happy. A smile can bring p...
