Letter to Myself (Poetry)

Image
(As we're ending a new year... Here's a poem I wrote a while ago. ^^ If you like it, I'll post more poems from time to time.) I once wrote myself a letter A letter about my past It's directed to 'me in the future' And she has read it at last. I once wrote myself a letter A letter that relates my tale Perhaps it does not matter But it gives me clues and trails. I once wrote myself a letter A letter that tells my sorrow The ink and writing grew fatter Then reverts to thin and narrow. I once wrote myself a letter A letter to offer advice To either support or deter Useful tips for later in life. I once wrote myself a letter A letter about my mistakes Choosing the former or latter Ended up choosing the fakes. I once wrote myself a letter A letter that pleads for help Perhaps now I feel better But I keep doubting myself.

Dar-Izzah Survival Camp!!!

Phewwww... Assalamualaikum, everyone! Ah, it's so good to return to this site again, typing away instead of creating hopeless promises that I'll come back to write a new post one day. Which I am! Okay, maybe it took me too long for this, and I never actually continued any of my trips and it's unfair of me since I keep saying I would. But I'm back now! Yaaaay! A little update before we start: I can say I've been all right throughout the year. Dar-Izzah has expanded, I think I mentioned that, with 50 people fitting in. A couple of students moved, but we keep in touch. A new student entered too. Our favorite Teacher Nafeesa left us a while ago, but we still keep in touch through emails, and she comes back once every three months or so. We still miss her though, and we were wild when she announced herself after her wedding. My parents and little brother has returned for good from Italy, and my father started working at his old office in Kuala Lumpur. Mother th...

School Holidays (Part 1)

Image
Assalamualaikum, fellow readers! So, as promised, I'll tell you guys about my school holidays when I went to visit my mom and dad. I'm so sorry I didn't get to write for so long, not even once through the whole month of December! Not to make an excuse, but I'm working on a book now (shameless self-promotion unintended). Right now, my memory of the whole vacation is kind of unclear, but hopefully I can clear off all the mist of forgetfulness out of my mind. First of all, I arrived in Milan on 30th of November. My cousin Mai and my grandparents also went along, and boy was it freezing there! It's usually around 0 to 2 degrees Celsius in San Donato Milanese, but sadly we didn't have a chance to see snow there. We rested for the whole week in a little apartment, until the excitement of the weekends arrive. We did have a chance to look around San Donato, but only when we went to pick up my mother from work, or to buy a few necessities for our stay. Even tho...

I'm Back! (Summary of 2017 So Far)

Assalamualaikum, everyone! It's been so long (and this blog is getting dustier, covered in all these cobwebs) and I missed blogging so much! Alhambdulillah, all praises to Allah for giving me the opportunity to write right now! First things first. Thank you guys for still reading my posts. You guys are the best. Second, happy new year (even though it's almost February)! I thought of blogging on New Year's Eve, but I was on a plane; I'll tell the story in another post. I hope this wonderful 2017, I will be able to blog about everything I want you all to know about and find time to write. In shaa Allah, I'll have more time blogging every day now that I have a fixed home timetable. Every day is going to be a fun journey! Well, now that we're three wekks into the new year, let me tell you about the events after the new year first before jumping into the travels and journeys in Europe during the one-month school holidays. This year is my second year in Dar-I...
